Life is moving at such a rapid pace that sometimes you have to take time to unplug to reconnect. The simple act of unplugging can have a profound impact on our lives. By consciously disconnecting we open ourselves up to the possibilities of genuine human connection, self-discovery, and a renewed appreciation for the happenings of the world around us.
We all have our own unique reasons to unplug or detox but the benefit usually always results in a stronger connection to what matters. For me it was being so engulfed in preparing for a milestone that I had neglected taking time to have meaningful moments built in to my day before I knew it two weeks had passed and I could feel the difference.
Here are a few of the things I did while I unplugged:
Pulled back from social media
Took time to check-in with where my family was mentally
Take a pause on overthinking and overworking
Built in some nature time
Built in some time for fun and being present
I will be honest, the difference that it made in clarity was tremendous and super impactful. I've had time to process a lot of thoughts that I had suppressed due to a busy schedule. I think I'll make this a new normal for me, or at least as much as I can.
Tell me what you unplug for...
Until next time -XOXO,
Candy
